Rentility normally classifies property types in 2 ways; the structure of the property and the length of stay. Room/Share/Couch, along with Commercial Space, are the only exceptions to this methodology.

A Room/Share/Couch property has looser structural requirements than other property types. This type of property could be anything from an apartment to a condominium to a house. The only structural requirement of a Room/Share/Couch property is that the renter is not renting the entire property. For example if you own a 3 bedroom apartment and you are renting out 1 of 3 bedrooms, this property would be classified as a Room/Share/Couch. However if you are renting out all 3 bedrooms, this property would be classified as either an Apt/Condo , House, Vacation/Sublet/Temp or Corporate Housing.

A Room/Share/Couch is typically a property which the renter would rent for a shorter term, but not necessarily. In this case, the structural qualifications (see above) of the property are more defining.
