Rentility was designed with one thing in mind: to facilitate
a better rental experience. Whether you're an owner looking to make extra income
off of a property or a renter looking for a better way to find your place, we
aim to offer a platform for making the process as smooth as possible. We want renting an apartment online to become
as simple as renting a hotel room.
The History:
Rentility was born out of frustrations in using free listing
services, like Craigslist, which more often than not left too many questions
about a property, as well subscription-based property rental sites, which too
often cost too much money without concern for whether or not renters make money
off of their properties. Its from these mistakes that we saw an opportunity for
a truly next-generation rental platform.
As renters, we knew the frustration of sifting through
hundreds, even thousands of listings which offered little information about
properties or descriptions and information we didn't understand or
couldn't use. Worse yet, there was the issue of securing an rental once you've
found what you're looking for. We can't even count the times between us in which we thought we found the perfect place on Craigslist only to find out it was no longer available.
From dealing with that, we decided that renters
would be better off with a site that limited how little information could be
posted, required that an apartment could be located using an online map, encouraged that a property get listed with as many details as possible and would
allow you to make a bid or even book a rental as soon as you decide you want
it and put down your deposit (and pay your rent each period) online with a credit card or PayPal. Click here to learn more about renting.
On the flip side of the coin, it was easy to see the plight
of property owners, who too often had to waste time dealing with the same common-sense
questions and hassle of making arrangements with already jaded and fed-up
renters. Another huge time waster for property owners is recreating their listings for every site they are advertising on. We have taken care of that with our syndication network, property profiles and embeddable code. It became easy to see that which had real value: payment tools, a
publicly posted FAQ function, listing standardization and distribution.
The Future:
Going forward, we would like Rentility to become the gold
standard for residential property rental. We want to get all parties involved
and working together to make this process as efficient and pain free as
