Rentility classifies property types in 2 ways; the structure of the property and the length of stay.
A
Vacation/Sublet/Temp property has looser structural requirements than the other property types. This type of property could be anything from an apartment to a condominium to a house boat. The only structural requirement for a
Vacation/Sublet/Temp is that the renter will be the only tenant in the property. For example if you own a 3 bedroom condominium in Miami, FL that you rent out during the off season, in order for this property to qualify as a
Vacation/Sublet/Temp all 3 bedrooms must be rented to the same party. However if you are renting out only 1 of 3 bedrooms, this property would be classified as a
Room/Share/Couch.
A
Vacation/Sublet/Temp is
also a property that a renter would lease for a shorter
term, anywhere from 1 day to 6 months. If a property
fulfills the structural requirements for a
Vacation/Sublet/Temp (see above) but the lease term is for 6 months or more, this type of property would be classified as either an
Apt/Condo or
House.
